Responsible Care New Zealand adopted the global chemical industry's Responsible Care® program in 1991.

Responsible Care® is the global chemical industry's commitment to safeguarding people and the environment from harm resulting from the use of its products and services.

Responsible Care NZ represents approximately 85% of New Zealand's major manufacturers and importers of hazardous substances. Their focus on superior SH&E performance attracts a diverse membership including the armed forces, state owned enterprises, local authorities, legal practices, distributors, retailers, transport operators and hospitals.

They work with their members in partnership with government and the community to exceed their expectations in Safety Health and Environmental protection.
